Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
