The Thamud gave the lie to the Messengers. 141 Behold, their brother Salih said to them: "Will you not fear (Allah)? 142 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 143 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 144 'I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 145 Will ye be left secure in that which is here before us, 146 "Gardens and Springs, 147 And cornfields and palm-trees having fine spadices? 148 And dwellings hewed out of mountains ingeniously? 149 Fear Allah and obey me 150 And obey not the command of the prodigal, 151 Who work corruption in the land and rectify not. 152 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched! 153 Thou art but a mortal like us. So bring some token if thou art of the truthful. 154 He said, 'This is a she-camel; to her a draught and to you a draught, on a day appointed, 155 "Touch her not with harm, lest the Penalty of a Great Day seize you." 156 So they hamstrung her, and in the morning could only regret. 157 and the punishment seized them. Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 158 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 159

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
