Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them. 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 "Or do you good or harm?" 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 “You and your forefathers preceding you.” 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 and grant me an honourable reputation among posterity, 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 And forgive my father, for surely he is of those who have gone astray; 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 “The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.” 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 And the Garden shall be brought nigh to the God-fearing. 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 apart from God? Do they help you or help themselves?' 93 Then they shall be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 And the soldiers of Iblees, all together. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 “And none misled us but the guilty.” 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 nor a loving friend. 101 Would that we had a second chance [in life,] so that we could be among the believers!" 102 In all this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
