۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 besides God, and show them the way of hell. 23 “And stop them – they are to be questioned.” 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. 29 we had no authority over you; no, you were an insolent people. 30 So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it. 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 and said: 'Are we to renounce our gods for the sake of a mad poet' 36 Not in the least. He has brought the truth and confirmed the other messengers. 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 On couches, facing one another. 44 a cup from a spring being passed round to them, 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 Surely this is the supreme triumph. 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
