Al-Zalzalah

The Quake (Al-Zalzalah)

8 verses, revealed in Medina after Women (Al-Nesaa) before Iron (Al-Hadeed)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

When the earth is shaken to her (utmost) convulsion, 1 And the earth brings forth her burdens, 2 And man enquires: "What has come over it?" 3 That day she will relate her chronicles, 4 Because your Lord has commanded it. 5 On that day men shall come forth in sundry bodies that they may be shown their works. 6 So whosoever does good equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it. 7 And he who has done an atom's weight of evil shall see it. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
