Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 A warning unto humankind 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In Gardens they will question 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
