The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
