The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 who, when people measure for them, take full measure, 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 (To be raised) for a Great Day? 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 And what will make you know what the Sijjin is? 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day to those who belied it, 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 Nay, verily, from [the grace of] their Sustainer shall they on that Day be debarred; 15 Then most surely they shall enter the burning fire. 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. 18 And what could make thee conceive what that mode most lofty will be? 19 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed 20 Which is witnessed by the close ones. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), 27 A fountain whereof will drink those brought nigh. 28 Behold, the wicked were wont to laugh at the believers: 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 seated upon their couches, they are looking around. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
