The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Behold, [in his earthly life] he lived joyfully among people of his own kind 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
