Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the forenoon (after sun-rise); 1 and by the night when it covers the world with peace: 2 Your Lord (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) has neither forsaken you nor hated you. 3 And indeed the latter is better for you than the former. 4 Your Lord will soon grant you sufficient favors to please you. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge? 6 Did He not find you perplexed, and show you the way? 7 Did He not find you poor and suffice you? 8 Do not oppress the orphan, 9 and him that seeks [thy] help shalt thou never chide, 10 And abundantly proclaim the favours of your Lord. 11
