The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
