Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They slept very little during the night 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
