We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 Verily these! they say: 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true' 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. 37 And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play. 38 We did not create them except with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time, all together, 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 Save those on whom Allah shall have mercy; surely He is the Mighty the Merciful. 42
