We gave the Book to Moses but people had different views about it. Had the Word of your Lord not been already ordained, He would have settled their differences (there and then). They are still in doubt about this. 110 Indeed, your Lord will pay each one of them in full for their deeds. He is aware of the things they do. 111 Continue then in the right way as you are commanded, as also he who has turned (to Allah) with you, and be not inordinate (O men!), surely He sees what you do. 112 Do not incline toward those who do wrong, lest the Fire touch you. For [then] you would have none to protect you from God, and you will not be helped. 113 Say your prayers morning and evening, and during parts of the night; surely good makes amends for evil. This is a reminder for people who pay heed. 114 And be patient, for surely Allah does not waste the reward of the good-doers. 115 Why were there no people of understanding among those people of the destroyed towns of the past except for a few, whom we saved from destruction, to prevent people from committing evil in the land? The unjust among them indulged in worldly pleasures and so became guilty. 116 Your Lord would never destroy the villages unjustly, whilst their people were reforming. 117 Had your Lord wanted, He would have made all people one united nation. They still have different beliefs 118 excepting those on whom thy Lord has mercy. To that end He created them, and perfectly is fulfilled the word of thy Lord: 'I shall assuredly fill Gehenna with jinn and men all together.' 119 And all We relate to you of the tidings of the Messengers is that whereby We strengthen your heart and through these the truth has come to you, and an admonition and a reminder to the believers. 120 Say to those who do not believe: "Do what ever ye can: We shall do our part; 121 And watch and wait; we are also watching and waiting.' 122 To God belongs the knowledge of the unseen in the heavens and the earth and to Him do all affairs return. Worship Him and trust Him. Your Lord is not unaware of what you do. 123
