Hizb 46

Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him, upon the shore, and he was ill, 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 Then We sent him to a hundred thousand or more, 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 'Allah has begotten' They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 Except the slaves of Allah, whom He choses (for His Mercy i.e. true believers of Islamic Monotheism who do not attribute false things unto Allah). 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 They used to say before: 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 We would be single-minded slaves of Allah. 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And see them thou; they themselves shall presently see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
