The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 and gathered his people together 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
