The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Ra. THESE ARE MESSAGES of revelation - of a discourse clear in itself and clearly showing the truth. 1 Perhaps (often) will those who disbelieve wish that they were Muslims [those who have submitted themselves to Allah's Will in Islam Islamic Monotheism, this will be on the Day of Resurrection when they will see the disbelievers going to Hell and the Muslims going to Paradise]. 2 leave them to eat, and to take their joy, and to be bemused by hope; certainly they will soon know! 3 And We destroyed no township but there was a known decree for it. 4 Every nation can only live for the time appointed for it. 5 They say: 'You to whom the Remembrance is sent down, you are indeed mad. 6 “Why do you not bring angels to us, if you are truthful?” 7 We send not down the angels, save with truth; 8 Lo! We, even We, reveal the Reminder, and lo! We verily are its Guardian. 9 AND, INDEED, [O Prophet,] even before thy time did We send [Our apostles] unto communities of old 10 But no Messenger came to them except he was mocked. 11 Even so do we let it creep into the hearts of the sinners - 12 So, they will not believe in it: The example of former people is there. 13 Though We opened to them a gate in heaven, and still they mounted through it, 14 They would surely say: "Our eyes have been (as if) dazzled. Nay, we are a people bewitched." 15
