O believers, obey God and His Messenger, and do not turn away from Him, even as you are listening; 20 Nor be like those who say, "We hear," but listen not: 21 ۞ Indeed, the worst of living creatures in the sight of Allah are the deaf and dumb who do not use reason. 22 If God had seen any good in them He would surely have made them hear. Now even if He makes them hear they will turn away (in obduracy). 23 O you who have believed, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart and that to Him you will be gathered. 24 Beware of sedition, which does not affect the oppressors alone among you, and know that the punishment of God is severe. 25 And remember when you were few, deemed weak in the land, fearing lest people might carry you off by force, but He sheltered you and strengthened you with His aid and gave you of the good things that you may give thanks. 26 O ye who believe! Betray not Allah and His messenger, nor knowingly betray your trusts. 27 And know that your possessions and your children are a test, and that with Allah is immense reward. 28
