The dwellers in El-Hijr cried lies to the Envoys. 80 We gave them Our signs, but they turned away from them. 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour, 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Surat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran. 87 Stretch not thine eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy; and do not sorrow for them, and lower thy wing unto the believers, 88 and say, 'Surely, I am the manifest warner.' 89 (Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),- 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, 92 concerning what they have been doing. 93 Promulgate thou that which thou art commanded, and turn away from the associaters. 94 Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers 95 Those who ascribe another God along with Allah; so they will soon come to know. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee. 99
