Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they came to him they said, "Peace!" He answered, "Peace!" [saying to himself]. "They are strangers." 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. 28 His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?" 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' 39 So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 But they brazenly disobeyed their Lord's command, and then a sudden chastisement overtook them while they looked on. 44 So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
