Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 and raised couches, 13 Goblets set, 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
