A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim Sad 1 A Book revealed unto thee,- So let thy heart be oppressed no more by any difficulty on that account,- that with it thou mightest warn (the erring) and teach the Believers). 2 Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow guardians besides Him, how little do you mind. 3 How many towns We have destroyed. Our scourge fell upon them by night or at midday when they were resting: 4 And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said, "Indeed, we were wrongdoers!" 5 We will question those to whom Our Message was sent, as We shall question the Messengers. 6 Then most certainly We will relate to them with knowledge, and We were not absent. 7 And the weighing on that Day is certain, then whosesoever balances will be heavy, those! they shall fare well. 8 and he whose scales are light -- they have lost their soul for wronging Our signs. 9 And surely, We gave you authority on the earth and appointed for you therein provisions (for your life). Little thanks do you give. 10
