And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 when he asked his father and his people, "What is that which you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them." 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 Do not betray me 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 Besides Allah? Can they help you or yet help themselves? 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 'By Allah, we were certainly in clear error, 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 So none we have as intercessors. 100 and no sincere friend. 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 103 Verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 104
