The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17

True are the words of God the Almighty.
