The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High, 1 who has created and shaped, 2 decreed their destinies, and provided them with guidance. 3 It is He who has caused the grass to grow, 4 Then turneth it to russet stubble. 5 WE SHALL teach thee, and thou wilt not forget [aught of what thou art taught,] 6 Except what Allah pleases, surely He knows the manifest, and what is hidden. 7 and [thus] shall We make easy for thee the path towards [ultimate] ease. 8 So render good counsel if good counsel will avail. 9 He will heed who feareth, 10 but the most wretched shall flout it, 11 Who will enter the Great Fire, 12 Neither dying therein nor living. 13 Lasting happiness will be for those who purify themselves, 14 And remembereth the name of his Lord, so prayeth, 15 But nay, [O men,] you prefer the life of this world, 16 Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. 17 This, indeed, was in the ancient Scrolls, 18 the scrolls of Abraham and Moses. 19
