Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
