The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
