Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 labouring, weary, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 In an elevated garden, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 therein a running fountain, 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 Goblets set, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 Lo! unto Us is their return 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
