Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 By the Book that makes things clear,- 2 Surely We have made it an Arabic Quran that you may understand. 3 Indeed it is transcribed in the Original Book with Us; sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Shall We then take away from you the admonition because ye are a people extravagant? 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the ancients, 6 but not a Prophet came to them, without they mocked at him; 7 so We destroyed men stronger in valour than they, and the example of the ancients passed away. 8 And if thou askest them: who hath created the heavens and the earth? they will surely say: created them the Mighty, the Knower. 9 He Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and made in it ways for you that you may go aright; 10 He Who sent down water from the sky in a determined measure, and thereby We revived a dead land: likewise will you be raised up (from the earth) -- 11 And He Who created pairs of all things, and made for you of the ships and the cattle what you ride on, 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 And lo! unto our Lord we surely are returning. 14 Yet they assign to Him some of His own (created) worshipers! Clearly, the human is unthankful. 15
