۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created the human 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
