Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
