The unbelieving assembly of his nation, who belied the encounter of the Everlasting Life, and on whom We had bestowed ease in this life, said: 'This is but a human like yourselves; he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 If you were to obey a human being like yourselves, you will certainly be losers. 34 Promiseth he unto you that ye, when ye have died and have become dust and bones, ye are to be brought forth? 35 ۞ Away, away with that you are promised! 36 There is nought but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we are not going to be raised up. 37 He is only a man who hath invented a lie about Allah. We are not going to put faith in him. 38 The Messenger prayed, "Lord, help me; they have called me a liar". 39 Allah said: after a little while they will become regretful. 40 The blast justly struck them and We reduced them to rubble. Away with such wicked people! 41 Then after them, We created other generations. 42 No nation can live beyond its allotted time, or lag behind. 43 Then We sent our messengers one after another. Whenever its messenger came unto a nation they denied him; so We caused them to follow one another (to disaster) and We made them bywords. A far removal for folk who believe not! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our tokens and a clear warrant 45 to the Pharaoh and his nobles. But they behaved proudly and thought themselves superior people. 46 They therefore said, “Shall we believe in two humans like ourselves, whereas their nation is servile to us?” 47 Then they belied the twain; so they became of those who were destroyed. 48 And assuredly We vouchsafed unto Musa the Book, that haply they may be guided. 49 And We made Mary's son, and his mother, a Sign, and We gave them refuge on a lofty ground, a peaceful site with springs flowing in it. 50
