And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people - 10 “The nation of Firaun; will they not fear?” 11 He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me 12 and my breast will be straitened, and my tongue will not be loosed; so send to Aaron. 13 "And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me." 14 He said: "Certainly not! So go both of you with Our Signs. We shall be with you listening to everything. 15 Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: 16 [Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'" 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 You spent many years of your life among us and then you committed that deed of yours. You are very ungrateful indeed." 19 Said Moosa, “I did that at a time when I was unaware of the consequences.” (In anger – See verse 28:15) 20 and I fled from you because I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me one of the messengers. 21 And [as for] that favour of which thou so tauntingly remindest me - [was it not] due to thy having enslaved the children of Israel?" 22 The Pharaoh asked: "And what is the Lord of all the worlds?" 23 Moses answered: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe." 24 Said [Pharaoh] unto those around him: "Did you hear [what he said]?" 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.' 26 [Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad." 27 He said, “The Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them; if you have sense.” 28 [Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned." 29 He said: Even though I show thee something plain? 30 Fir'awn said: forth with it then, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 31 Then he cast down his staff, and lo! it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
