If affliction befalls you, it is what your own hands have earned, but He pardons a lot. 30 Nor can ye frustrate (aught), (fleeing) through the earth; nor have ye, besides Allah, any one to protect or to help. 31 And among His signs are the ships in the sea like mountains. 32 if He will, He calms the wind so that they remain motionless upon its back, surely, there are signs in this for every thankful, patient (person). 33 Or He causeth them to perish on account of that which they have earned - And He forgiveth much - 34 Then those who wrangle about Our Signs will come to know that there is no escape for them. 35 Whatever thing you have been given is the enjoyment of the present life; but what is with God is better and more enduring for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord. 36 And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive, 37 And those who answer the call of their Lord and establish worship, and whose affairs are a matter of counsel, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them, 38 And those who, when they are oppressed vindicate themselves. 39 The guerdon of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereof. But whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his wage is the affair of Allah. Lo! He loveth not wrong-doers. 40 And there is no way of reproach against those who take revenge after being wronged. 41 The blame is only against those who wrong people, and are wrongfully insolent in the earth, for them there is a painful punishment. 42 And whoever is patient and forgiving, these most surely are actions due to courage. 43
