The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
