Al-Dhaareyaat 2 of 3
Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!" 29 They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." 30 ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' 31 They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, 32 That we may send down upon them stone of clay, 33 marked by your Lord for the sinful' 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 but We found only one Muslim house. 36 and left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. 40 In 'Ad (also is a sign), when We sent a blasting wind against them, 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 after they had turned with disdain from their Sustainer's commandment - whereupon the thunderbolt of punishment overtook them while they were [helplessly] looking on: 44 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
