And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They replied: "We worship idols and are devoted to them." 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 You and your ancient forefathers? 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 Who created me, then He has shown me the way: 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again), 81 And who, I hope, will condone my faults on the Day of Judgement. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 “And give me proper fame among the succeeding generations.” 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 Except him who comes to Allah with a heart free (from evil). 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 and they will be asked: "Where are the gods that you worshipped 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 Then the idols and those who strayed will be hurled into the Fire headlong, one upon another, 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 "'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt. 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104
