The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
