In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 Those are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 A guidance and a mercy for the good, 3 Those who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and they are certain of the hereafter. 4 These are on (true) guidance from their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 And of mankind is one who purchaseth an idle discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and taketh it by way of mockery. These! for them shall be a torment ignominious. 6 And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in his stiff-neckedness as though he heard them not: as though there was a deafness in his ears. So announce thou unto him a torment afflictive. 7 Verily, those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, for them are Gardens of delight (Paradise). 8 to abide therein in accordance with God's true promise: for He alone is almighty, truly wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; He set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and He scattered through it beasts of all kinds. We send down rain from the sky, and produce on the earth every kind of noble creature, in pairs. 10 [All] this is God's creation: show Me, then, what others than He may have created! Nay, but the evildoers are obviously lost in error! 11
