The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise, and warn. 2 And your Lord do magnify, 3 And your garments do purify, 4 And uncleanliness avoid 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 So that is a tough day. 9 Not of ease, for disbelievers. 10 Leave Me with him whom I created alone, 11 and to whom I have granted resources vast, 12 and sons ever present with him, 13 And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life]. 14 And who yet coveteth that shall increase. 15 By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory! 16 [and so] I shall constrain him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 Lo! He reflected, and determined -- 18 So let him be cursed! How he plotted! 19 Yea, Woe to him; How he plotted!- 20 May he be condemned again for his schemes! He looked around, 21 then he frowned and scowled, 22 then he retreated and waxed proud, 23 and says, "All this is mere spellbinding eloquence handed down [from olden times]! 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 I will drive him into Saqar. 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 Darkening and changing the colour of man! 29 Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell). 30 And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Quran is the truth as it agrees with their Books i.e. their number (19) is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and the believers may increase in Faith (as this Quran is the truth) and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say: "What Allah intends by this (curious) example?" Thus Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind. 31
