The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 that hide, 16 and the night that falls, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
