The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And the close of night, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Where then will you go? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
