NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein. 16 When the two Receivers receive (him), seated on the right hand and on the left, 17 each word he utters shall be noted down by a vigilant guardian. 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth; that is what you were trying to escape. 19 And the trumpet is blown. This is the threatened Day. 20 And there will come forth every soul: with each will be an (angel) to drive, and an (angel) to bear witness. 21 (And the driver will say:) "You were oblivious of this, so we have removed the veil, and how keen is your sight today!" 22 His companion said: “Here is he who was in my charge.” 23 [Allah will say], "Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever, 24 Forbidder of good, exceeder of limits, doubter, 25 who set up with God another god; therefore, you twain, cast him into the terrible chastisement.' 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 [Allah] will say, "Do not dispute before Me, while I had already presented to you the warning. 28 The Word will not be changed in My presence, nor am I an oppressor at all unto My bondmen. 29
