Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 and ease my task for me. 26 and my tongue fluent 27 so that they may understand me. 28 Appoint for me a minister from my family 29 Harun, my brother. 30 by him confirm my strength, 31 Let him be my partner in this task 32 “In order that we may profusely proclaim Your Purity.” 33 "And remember You much, 34 "For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us." 35 Said He, 'Thou art granted, Moses, thy petition. 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 "Cast him into the ark, and cast him into the river, and let the river throw him up on the shore. An enemy of Mine and his shall take him." And I loaded on thee love from Me, and to be formed in My sight, 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 And I chose you for Myself. 41 go therefore, thou and thy brother; with My signs, and neglect not to remember Me. 42 Go both of you to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel. 43 "But speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear (Allah)." 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 He said: "Have no fear. I am with you, hearing and seeing all. 46 They came to the Pharaoh and told him that they were the Messengerss of his Lord and that they wanted him to let the Israelites go with them and stop afflicting the Israelites with torment. They told the Pharaoh, "We have brought miracles from Our Creator. Peace be with those who follow the right guidance. 47 It has been revealed to us that punishment will befall him who denies and turns away. 48 The Pharaoh asked them, "Who is your Lord?" 49 He replied: "Our Sustainer is He who gives unto every thing [that exists] its true nature and form, and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment]. 50 Said [Pharaoh]: "And what of all the past generations?" 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 It is God who has made the earth as a cradle for you with roads for you to travel. He has sent water from the sky to produce various pairs of plants. 53 Eat [therefrom] and pasture your livestock. Indeed, in that are signs for those of intelligence. 54
