We created man -- We know the promptings of his soul, and are closer to him than his jugular vein -- 16 (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). 17 whatever phrase he utters, an observer is present. 18 And the agony of death cometh in truth. (And it is said unto him): This is that which thou wast wont to shun. 19 And the Horn will be blown. That is the Day of [carrying out] the threat. 20 And every person will come forth along with an (angel) to drive (him), and an (angel) to bear witness. 21 (And the driver will say:) "You were oblivious of this, so we have removed the veil, and how keen is your sight today!" 22 And his companion (angel) will say: "Here is (this Record) ready with me!" 23 Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 hinderer of good, transgressor, causing others to doubt, 25 who has set up another god besides God: cast him into severe punishment" -- 26 ۞ His companion said: “I did not incite him to rebel; he was far gone into error of his own accord.” 27 Allah will say: "Dispute not in front of Me, I had already, in advance, sent you the threat. 28 The Word will not be changed in My presence, nor am I an oppressor at all unto My bondmen. 29
