The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
