The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man, 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
