Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The true event! 1 How tremendous is the true event! 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In a high garden 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
