Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
