Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
